Batavia woman charged after dogs found dead in van

A police officer’s curiosity about a van parked in a lot at the Batavia Government Center led to a Batavia woman being charged for killing three dogs, police said. Julie A. Brungard-Giordano 47, of the 200 block of North Island Avenue, is charged with four counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and four counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals. The animals were found in a locked van with towel-covered windows, according to police.
