After unprecedented number of crashes, state police ramp up enforcement to stop drivers from slamming into squad cars

Since Jan. 1, drivers have crashed into 14 Illinois State Police squad cars that were stopped and had emergency lights flashing. One state trooper was killed. Now state leaders are announcing new enforcement measures.
